One additional change to Delta's Medallion program that they haven't publicly announced is that they will no longer grant courtesy status. It used to be that if you failed to requalify, they would only drop you one level in a given year. No longer. I had been platinum, but my company went bankrupt early last year so, being unemployed, I did not travel much. In the past, I would have been given Gold status, but I received nothing this year. When I asked Delta about it, they said the 5000 miles they gave us last year was enough. At least Marriott is still continuing that practice.
