ATL Airport Dining: One Flew South

  • One Flew South  (yelp.com) – Delivery & Pickup Options – 1065 reviews of One Flew South – CLOSED “I saw this restaurant featured in NY Times and conveniently the next day, our layover in ATL got extended to almost 2 hours. So I dragged my boyfriend to Concourse E (“e as in echo”) for something other than average airport food. If I didn’t protest, I would have ended up with Sbarro. We asked the hostess if they could get dinner served before our flight time. And she said definitely. Drinks: The mojito was pretty good and my boyfriend had some local beer which wasn’t that impressive. Food: BRAISED PORK & PARPADELLE It was a very delicious pasta plate with pumpkin, pearl onion and spinach. The sauce was so good that I was licking the plate at the end. The taste is not like the high end delicate and subtle mix of spices that makes your tongue sing and dance. It’s more of a “you know it tastes good and you are damn glad to be eating it” type of comfort food. The roast pork in the dish was very tender and well seasoned. My boyfriend got the Kobe beef burger. He liked his burger, it was juicy and went well with the goat cheese they put on. Medium well turned out medium well. That’s all the time we had for our dinner and we rushed out to our flight which was already boarding. So make sure you let the hostess and waiter know when your flight is. They could take a while. Not only I got to have delicious food and drinks, I also got to avoid awful greasy airport food! So I would say it’s definitely worth the trek over to another concourse and some more $$. I wish more airports have restaurants like this. I love flying as it is but this kind of food will make it even more enjoyable.”
